William "Bill" G. Reitman

William G. “Bill” Reitman, 89, of Monmouth, IL, passed away At 5:01 pm, Saturday, June 2, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.

He was born November 28, 1928 in Seaton, IL, the son of William and Anna (Gaylor) Reitman.  Bill was raised and educated in Little York and graduated from Little York High School in 1948.  He served in the Army National Guard for 3 years from 1948-1951.

Bill married Margaret M. Blackman on June 22, 1949 in Burlington, IA, she survives.

Bill farmed all of his life and owned and operated Reitman’s Bulldozing and Tiling.  He attended the First Christian Church in Monmouth.  Bill enjoyed going to the Wednesday men’s church breakfast at the Cameron Christian Church as well as the Saturday morning breakfast at the First Christian Church.  He loved going to Arizona, enjoyed horses, fishing and going to farm shows.  Most of all, Bill truly loved spending time with his family and being with his grandkids.

Surviving Bill is his wife Margaret Reitman of Monmouth; his children, Sheryl Perrin of Monmouth, Gerald (Kaye) Reitman of Cameron, IL, Carolyn (Tom) McKillip of Gilson, IL, five grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jack Reitman, and sister, Shirley Gullberg.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A private family service will be held at a later date.  Memorials can be made to the William G. Reitman Memorial Fund.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
