William "Bill" D Anderson

William D. “Bill” Anderson, 73, of rural Alexis, IL passed away at 11:55 pm, Sunday, October 13, 2019 at his home.

Bill was born September 9, 1946 in Galesburg, IL the son of William L. and Hazel Anderson.  He was raised and educated in Galesburg graduating from Galesburg High School in 1965 and later Browns Business College.

Bill served with the United States Navy during Vietnam.

Bill married Terry Gregory at the Norwood Presbyterian Church, rural Alexis on December 21, 1968 and she survives.

Bill was the purchasing manager for OMC, Fidelity Federal and United Federal before working for BNSF Railroad as an Engineer for 20 years before retirement.

He was a member of the Norwood Presbyterian Church.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, woodworking, gardening, playing cards and attending all his grandkids activities whether sports or at school.

Survivors include his wife, Terry Anderson of Alexis, sons, Todd (Laura) Anderson of Galesburg, IL and Tom (Beth) Anderson of Woodhull, IL; his daughter, Tracy (Matt) Meredith of Adair, IL; 7 grandchildren, Connor, Camryn, Camdon and Carley Anderson, Danny Anderson, James and Allison Meredith.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, Floyd and Jean Gregory.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Norwood Presbyterian Church, rural Alexis, IL.  Interment will be at the Norwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm, Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Memorials may be given to the Norwood Cemetery, Norwood Presbyterian Church or the Quad Cities Honor Flight.
