William H. Johnson, 82, of Little York, passed away at 9:40 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Roseville Rehabilitation & Health Care, Roseville, Ill. He was born on November 8, 1932 in Jewell, Ia., he is the son of Henry A. and Leona M. Streveler Johnson. William was raised and educated in Jewell, Ia., he graduated from Jewell High School in 1950. William served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He first married Barbara Terrell on November 16, 1956 in Iowa City, Ia. William later married Ann Melton on December 21, 1984 in Alexis, Ill., she survives. William worked for 26 years at the University of Iowa in Miscellaneous Services as a locksmith. He loved to dance, and enjoyed woodworking, antiquing, fishing, shooting pool, and most of all; spending time with his family. William was a member of the Marion B. Fletcher American Legion Post 136 in Monmouth, and Little Cedar Church in Little York. He is survived by his wife Ann Johnson of Little York, one daughter Susie (Dick) Thalken of Iowa City, Ia., three sons; Will (Rod Masker) Johnson of Phoenix, Az., Jerry Icenogle of Little York, and Joe (Ranae) Icenogle of Conesville, Ia. His grandchildren; Shane Thalken, Amber (Chad) Lepisto, Holly Thalken, Austin Masker, Shea Berlin, Mikayla Icenogle, Zachary Icenogle, Ashley (Dillon) Lee, and Cody Icenogle. Also surviving is one great granddaughter Avery Lepisto, sister Pat Wilson of Minnesota, and several nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 12, 2015 at Little Cedar Church in Little York. Cremation rites will be accorded. In Liu of flowers memorials can be made to the Little Cedar Church. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory in Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
