Tina L. Waterman

Tina Louise Waterman, 53, of Oquawka, IL, passed away at 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Great River Hospice House, West Burlington, IA.

Tina was born March 6, 1964 in Galesburg, IL the daughter of Donald and Lois (Newton) Hume. She was raised and educated in Monmouth and Biggsville.

Tina married Jay Waterman in Oquawka, IL on May 15, 1982 and he survives.

She worked at Carhardt in Galesburg, Winegard and Vista Biscuit Co. in Burlington, IA. She volunteered with the Red Cross and other charitable organizations during the local floods and other disasters. Tina and Jay recently had a wonderful trip to Florida provided by The Little Pink Houses of Hope organization.

Tina loved to attend her children’s sporting events and she was their #1 fan. She was a member of the Faith Bible Church in Oquawka and enjoyed doing crafts and baking.

Survivors include her husband, Jay Waterman of Oquawka, Sons, Jonathon (Janel) Waterman of Oquawka, IL, Justin (Elizabeth) Waterman of Haughton, LA and Jacob Waterman of Raeford, NC; her daughter, Jessa Waterman of Iowa City, IA; 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; her mother, Lois Syrkel of Monmouth; sisters, Cindy (Jack) Moore of Galesburg and Linda (Mike) McMahon of Monmouth; several nieces, nephews, aunt and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 am, Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Faith Bible Church in Oquawka. Cremation has been accorded. Memorials may be given to The Little Pink Houses of Hope.
