Timothy L. Miller, 59, of Galesburg, passed away at 4:02 a.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill. Tim was born on May 10, 1955 in Monmouth; he is the son of Robert Dean and Mary Frances (Lister) Miller. He was raised and educated in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1973. Tim served in the United States Army from 1973-1977. He married Debra Ann Snider in Galesburg, Ill., on March 20, 2006, she survives. Tim was a correctional officer at the Henry C. Hill Correctional Center in Galesburg for 24 years, retiring as a Sergeant in July of 2010. He also assisted Mike Walters farming, and was a police officer for Yates City, Avon, and London Mills. He was an avid camper, great handyman, and an avid NASCAR Fan, especially Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Tim was known as "45". Tim is survived by his wife Debra Miller of Galesburg, two children; Eric (Annie) Miller of Little York, Alanna (Stephen) Miller of Monmouth. Seven grandchildren: Tyce, Breanna, and Evan Wade, Tristin and Wesley Eckert, Lexi and Alex Melleny; step children, Missy Hackwith and Brandt Hackwith both of Toulon, IL. Also surviving is his mother Mary Frances Miller of Monmouth, two brothers: Robb (Sylvia) Miller of Springfield, Ill., Todd (Linda) Miller of Oquawka, Ill., and his companions Jase and Jep. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory in Monmouth. Interment with Military Honors will be in Warren County Memorial Park. Friends may call on Tuesday August 5, 2014 at the Funeral Home where his family will be present from 4:00-8:00 P.M.. Friends may also call on Wednesday morning one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be given to the Wounded Warriors or the Peoria Regional Chapter Autism Society of America.
