Steven Allen Larimer

Steven Allen Larimer, 64, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 5:01 am, Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at his home.

Steve was born September 15, 1955 in Monmouth, IL the son of Charles K. “Chuck” and Alta LaJune (Earp) Larimer.  He was raised and educated in Monmouth attending Monmouth High School.

Steve married Jenny Siens on October 14, 1982 in Monmouth and she survives.

Steve worked at Wells Pet Food in Monmouth on the Biscuit Line for 10 years.  He later was a truck driver for Munson Transportation in Monmouth for several years before returning to Wells Pet Food before retiring in 2013.

He enjoyed and was fanatical about mowing the yard, working on puzzle books and watching over the neighborhood.  He also enjoyed NASCAR.

Survivors include his wife; his children, Jeremy (Lisa) Larimer of Aledo, IL, Brandy (Keith) Ortberg of Joy, IL, Michele Purchase of Oquawka, IL, Heather Dial of Geneseo, IL and Chad (Deana) John of Monmouth, IL; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren;

two brothers, Charles D. (Connie) Larimer of Monmouth, IL and Michael L. Larimer of Galesburg; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Emily Purchase.

Cremation has been accorded.  A private family gathering will take place at a later date.  Memorials may be given to the Steven A. Larimer Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
