Steven R. “Steve” Franklin, 68, of Oquawka, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at his home.

Steve was born on February 28, 1957, in Yuma, AZ, the son of James R. and Frances M. (Dunmire) Franklin. He was raised and educated in Tucson, AZ.

He loved his family and friends with a passion like no other. He was truly one of a kind.

Surviving Steve are his children, Nicole Franklin of Oquawka, IL, Raquel Chandler of Johnstown, CO, Colleen (Lenny) Chandler of Littleton, CO, Rodney (Doreen) Chandler of Pueblo, CO; grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Joshua, Travis (Mikaila), Zachery (Lynette), Tony (Crystal), Darryl (Lizz); and brother, Jim (Mary) Franklin of Vail, AZ.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and three brothers, Raymond “Blue” Franklin, Jeff Franklin, and John Franklin.

A private Celebration of Life will be at a later date. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
