Sheila G. Cole-Brown, 59, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 1:50 a.m., Thursday, August 27, 2020 at her home.
She was born on May 27, 1961 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Jerry and Georgia (Eack) Cole. Sheila was raised and educated in Decatur. She later attended Carl Sandburg College and earned her CNA license and she was also Certified Pharmacy Technician.
Sheila married Eddie Brown, Sr. on June 15, 2002 in Springfield, IL; he survives.
Sheila worked as a CNA at the Pinewood Nursing Home and later at the Monmouth Nursing Home for 34 years. She loved taking care of people and she was the best friend you could ask for. Sheila enjoyed getting away on vacation and going to the casino. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family.
Surviving Sheila is her husband, Eddie Brown of Monmouth, IL; four children, Mike Cole, Matthew (Candi) Cole, Larry Mariner, Sandy Mariner;.; seven grandchildren, Julia Cole, Daltin Cole, Sean Mariner, Levi Miller, Elias Link, Charleigh Mariner, Rodney Mariner; four step children, Eddie Brown, Jr, M’Linda Brown, April Hahne, and Melisa Boyer. Also surviving is her mother, Georgia Cole; two brothers, Phil (Dolores) Cole, Paul (Rose) Cole, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Cole; grandson, Quincey Cole; her grandparents, and late husband Harry Hetrick III.
A Gathering of Family & Friends will be 4:00-6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials can be made to the Sheila Brown Memorial Fund. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions and requirements, all attendees are required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
