Ronald Greg Winbigler, 67, of Monmouth, IL died at 12:02 p.m. December 21, 2015 at his home. He was born April 3, 1948 in Monmouth, IL the son of Lloyd and Pauline "Boots"(Lantz) Winbigler and Donald Roberts. He was raised and educated in Warren County where he graduated from Warren High School in 1966. He later attended Monmouth College and graduated from Carl Sandburg College in 1979 with a degree in Law Enforcement. Ron served with the United States Navy. Ron married Becky Slater, Lisa Harrison and later Carol Hays and she survives. He worked as a police officer for the Monmouth Police Department for several years, a salesman for Dee Harrison Ford and Ray Green Chevrolet. He later was a truck driver for Munson Transportation and Heartland Trucking where he achieved a 5 million mile safe driving record. Ron attended and professed his love of Jesus at the Countryside Bible Church, Monmouth. He enjoyed photography, woodworking, and animals. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings Fan. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Carol Winbigler of Wataga; daughters, Nicole (Mike) Jones and Kelli (Kyle Kinzer) Winbigler both of Monmouth IL; step children, Andy (Stacey) Hall of Little York, IL, Sara (Andy) Varner of Oneida, IL, Erik (Lisa) Hall of Oneida, IL and Ryan (Courtney) Hall of Wataga, IL; his grandchildren, Mallory, Slater and Grady Jones and Codie Winbigler all of Monmouth; Jacob, Lillie, Lexi, Ava, & Allie Varner, Layne, Wyatt & Hailey Hall all of Oneida, IL, Cora & Etta Hall of Little York, IL, Ethan and Parker Hall of Wataga, IL; his mother, Pauline "Boots" Winbigler of Monmouth; brothers, Rick (Donna) Winbigler of Monmouth, IL, Randy (Jan) Winbigler of Roseville, IL, and Roy Winbigler of Galesburg, IL; sisters, Kathy (Kent) Willis of Monmouth, IL, Carol (Ron) LeGate of Galesburg, IL, Donna (Bill) Ramsey of Waxhaw, NC, Gina (Tom) Settlemyre of Ft. Mill, SC, Janice (Gene) Allison of Auburn, AL and Becky Roberts of Wetukupa, AL; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Mazie Lantz; both of his fathers; a sister, Molly Roberts; step son, Daniel Hall and many aunts and uncles. Memorial services with Military Honors will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Friends may call Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the funeral home where his family will be present from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Countryside Bible Church or Western Illinois Animal Rescue.
