Robert & Joan Cramer

Robert, Bob, died peacefully on July 6, 2016, in his home in Louisville, KY at the age of 83. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Fern Cramer, both of whom taught at Monmouth College and an infant brother.

Joan died peacefully in Louisville, KY on January 8, 2018, at the age of 85.  She is preceded in death by her mother Mildred Jamison Pierson of Knoxville and her son John Aaron (Jac) 1958-2017.

Bob and Joan were High School Sweethearts, both graduated from the Monmouth High School Class of 1950. Bob went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree from Monmouth College. Joan earned her RN degree from Cottage Nursing School.  The couple had three children; Paula Jo of Louisville KY, Melinda Kay of Oak Creek WI, and their son Jac of Louisville, KY, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Bob began his career in Public Education and eventually became a college president, last serving as the president of Carroll College (now Carroll University) in Waukesha, WI.  Joan was his most gracious and amiable hostess in any setting, and known for being an excellent cook.  She quickly established a lovely home in every town in which the family resided.

A graveside service is being held on Friday, June 15, 2018, 3:30 p.m. at the Monmouth Cemetery, Monmouth, IL.  The service is being conducted by Pastor Charles Cunningham.  All are welcome to attend.   Arrangements are being handled by McGuire and Davies Funeral Home and Crematory. Monmouth.
