Robert W. "Bob" Moede, 71, of Oquawka, IL, passed away at 10:10 a.m., Friday, April 22, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Bob was born on October 3, 1944 in Libertyville, IL, the son of Walter A. and Mildred M. (Senft) Moede. He was raised and educated in Naperville and graduated from Naperville Central High School in 1962. He later earned his Master's Degree while at the Living Light Tabernacle in Roseville.
He married Betty J. Horen in Naperville, IL on June 12, 1965, she survives.
Bob worked as an accountant for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 25 years. He and his wife have also served as Pastors at the Oquawka House of Prayer for 30 years, and the Assembly of God Church in New Boston for 18 years. Bob is a former Unit Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America, and was very active in the Junior Achievement Program. Bob loved to visit with family and friends, he visited with the sick in the hospital as a Chaplain, and help inmates with his jail house ministries.
He is survived by his wife Betty J. Moede of Oquawka, one daughter Stacy Kastner of White City, FL, two sons; Steven P. (Robbin) Moede of Oquawka, and Jamison R. (Shawn) Moede of Kirkwood, IL. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Debrah Lynn Moede, one brother Walter A. Moede, Jr., and one sister Barbara J. Ericson.
Memorial Services will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Oquawka House of Prayer, Oquawka, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Oquawka House of Prayer.
