Robert W. “Bob” Jasperson, 76, of Monmouth, IL., passed away at his home on Thursday, September 12, 2024. 

Bob was born May 11, 1948 in Galesburg, IL the son of L.G. and Margaret (Gustine) Jasperson. He was raised and educated in Galesburg, graduating from Galesburg High School in 1966. He later played basketball and graduated with a degree in History from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. 

Bob was a Construction Contractor, which included being a home weatherization inspector for the Western Illinois Regional Council in Macomb. 

Bob was an avid coin collector, by the time he was 17 he operated a coin dealership out his parents’ basement for several years. He was also a lover of books, music and was a motorcycle enthusiast. Bob rode his Harley Davidson Sportster over 100 thousand miles before having to rebuild it. He was honored as Volunteer of the Year for the Illinois Motorcycle Dealership Association as a corner judge for races such as the Springfield Mile and Du Quoin Mile. He was a member of the American Motorcycle Association, LaMoine Ramblers Motorcycle Club of Macomb, and Friends of the Library. 

Survivors include his stepsons, Ray (Julie) Brodrick of Little York, IL and Rich (Cheryl) Brodrick of East Peoria, IL. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Les Jasperson. 

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 until 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Danny’s Tap Side Room, Monmouth, please use the entrance off of 1st Ave. Cremation has been accorded. Memorials may be given to the Warren County Library and sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
