Richard D. "Rick" Hale, 45, of Monmouth, passed away at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 22, 2014 at his home.
He was born June 11, 1968 in Moline, IL. He is the son of James and Gwen (Armstrong) Hale. Rick was raised and educated in Kirkwood, IL, graduating from Yorkwood High School in 1986.
Rick married Melinda "Mindy" Adcock in Burlington, IA. On June 7, 1991 and she survives.
Rick was employed in car sales, finance and the restaurant business. He was an avid NASCAR and Pittsburgh Steelers fan, enjoyed golf, detailing cars and cooking.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Jake Hale and Ryan Hale; daughter, Lauren Hale all of Monmouth; granddaughter, Kenleigh Gosney; parents, Gwen & Francis Shaver of Monmouth; brother, Rodney (Diana) Hale of Columbus, OH; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Hale and grandparents.
Friends may call after 12:00 Noon on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, where there will be a gathering of family and friends from 2:00-4:00 P.M. No funeral services are planned. Cremation will take place following the gathering with a private family burial at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Hale Children Education Fund.
