Rebecca L. Linz, 55 of Monmouth, IL died at 4:07 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2015 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth, IL. She was born November 12, 1959 in Monmouth, the daughter of James A. Montroy, Sr. and Linda Lou (Nesbitt) Sells. Rebecca was raised and educated in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1977. Rebecca married John A. Linz in Princeton, IL. Rebecca worked as a bank teller and supervisor at several banks in Galesburg, Princeton, and Vandalia. She also worked in the office at Freedom Valley Contractors in Monmouth. Rebecca was of the Christian faith, a huge Gary Allen fan, and loved animals, and spending time outdoors. She is survived by her children; Chance (Casey Warner) Linz of Galesburg, IL, Zachary Linz of Monmouth, Adriana Linz of Monmouth, father; Jim (Pat) Montroy, Sr. of Monmouth, step children; Anastasia Linz of Busan, South Korea, Tony Linz of Seattle, WA, her sisters; Billie Jo Conchas of Monmouth, Barbara (Juan) Pinedo of Monmouth, Brenda (Roger) Barron of Monmouth, Debbie (Rodney) Michael of Glidden, IA, Kelly (Sean) McKee of Monmouth, her brothers; Bradley (Jamie) Valdez of Smithshire, IL, James “Jimmy” (Teresa) Montroy, Jr. of Monmouth, Ike (Sherry) Montroy of Monmouth, and dear friend, Frankie “Choo” Adams of North Carolina, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, and brother, Bobby Sells. A Gathering of Family & Friends will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Cremation rites have been accorded. Interment of her ashes will be in Monmouth Cemetery at a later date. Memorials can be made to Western Illinois Animal Rescue.
