Ray Miller

Ray Miller, 81, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 6:45 pm, Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the Marigold Rehab & Health Care Center, Galesburg, IL.

He was born September 21, 1937 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Wilbur and Vivian (Sage) Miller. He was raised and educated in Monmouth, attending Monmouth High School.

Ray married Janice Determan on May 9, 1959 in Wood River, IL and she survives.

Ray first worked at Greer Technical Institute.  He later owned and operated a paint store in Stronghurst, IL.  Ray was passionate about his faith and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Monmouth.  He enjoyed sailing with his wife and teaching mechanics to students and anyone who wanted to learn.

Surviving Ray is his wife, Janice Miller of Galesburg, IL; his sister, Rose Swan of Dixon, IL; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded; no visitation or services are planned at this time.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
