Phyllis June Peel

Phyllis June Peel, 59, of Monmouth died at 11:59 P.M. Monday, March 17, 2014 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice in Peoria, IL.

Phyllis was born on May 7, 1954 in Morganfield, Ky., she is the daughter of Bernice and Genevea (Perkins) Dailey. Phyllis was raised and educated in Morganfield, Ky., where she graduated from High School.

Phyllis married Frank J. Peel in Warren County, IL.

Phyllis worked Pinewood Nursing Home in Monmouth then later at Rosewood Health Care Center in Galesburg, and most recently she worked as a CNA for Home Health Care for 10 years.

Phyllis was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Monmouth. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, and making quilts.

Phyllis is survived by her three sons; Matthew (Kasi) Peel of Texas, David (Sadie) Peel of Monmouth, Jonathan (Stephanie Byron) Peel of Galesburg, IL.; Twelve grandchildren, her mother Genevea Fuqua of Morganfield, Ky., her siblings; Rosemary (Jim) Yarber, Kay Cutler, Jimmy (Wanda) Fuqua, Bubby Fuqua, Tonya Fuqua, and Janice (Juan) Vasquez all of Morganfield, Ky. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Bernice Dailey, and two brothers Roy Allen Fuqua, and Tony Scott Fuqua.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Monmouth. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory in Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
