Pauline "Polly" C. (Carwile) Thompson

Pauline C. “Polly” Thompson, 99, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 9:30 pm, Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth, IL.

Polly was born September 5, 1921 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Paul and Hildur (Erickson) Carwile.  She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School.

Polly married William G. “Bill” Thompson on December 21, 1942 in Pueblo, CO and he died July 29, 2006.

Polly was a homemaker most of her life.  She enjoyed golfing, playing Pitch and Bridge with several clubs and spending time with her family. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Monmouth.

Survivors include her children, Jane (Robert) Bateman, Joan Thompson and Jeff (Diana) Thompson; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Jim Thompson; brothers, Ralph (Ruth) Carwile and Earl (Kak) Carwile and her sister, Dorothy (Jack) Lemmerman.

Cremation has been accorded.  A private family celebration of Polly’s life will be held at a later date. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
