Patricia L. (Hank) Montroy

Patricia L. Montroy,79, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 3:07 pm, Friday, April 2, 2021 in Columbus, OH.

Pat was born June 30. 1941 in Muscatine, IA the daughter of Chester “Chet” and Beryl (Woods) Hank.  She was raised and educated in Muscatine graduating from Muscatine High School in 1959.

Pat married Bill Schmidt in June 1961 in Muscatine, IA. She later married James A. Montroy, Sr. in Roseville, IL, on November 14, 1993 and he passed away on April 17, 2018.

Pat was homemaker and later worked as a secretary at Northern Gravel in Muscatine, IA.  She also helped her husband, Jim, run several businesses for 30 years.

Pat was active in the Littleton Co Jaycees during the 1970’s and volunteered at Columbine Hills Elementary School when her kids were younger. She had a very strong Christian Faith.

Survivors include her children; Gregory W. (JoAnn) Schmidt of LaPorte City, IA and Lisa (Scott) Davidson of Hilliard, OH, James A. (Teresa) Montroy, Jr of Monmouth, IL; Deb (Rod) Michael of Glidden, IA; James Ivan “Ike” (Sherry) Montroy of Durand, WI; and Kelly (Sean) McKee of Bettendorf, IA; 16 grandchildren, Steven (Sarah) Schmidt, Jake Davidson, Adam (Hannah) Jobgen, Matthew Jobgen, Debbie Jo Montroy, Billie Jo Montroy, Jayme (Chrystal) Montroy, Stacie (Eric) Daily, Chance (Casey) Linz, Zachary Linz, Adriana Linz, Mason Montroy, Aryssia Montroy, Tristan Montroy, Cameron Montroy, Greyson McKee and  Maddie McKee; 22 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Denny (Sharon) Hank of Bettendorf, IA; 1 sister, Linda Moench of Musctine, IA; 3 sisters-in-law, Cindy Hank of Muscatine, IA , Evelyn Montroy of McRae, AR and Garnett Pirtle of Oquawka, IL;  special cousin, Joyce Sachs of Muscatine, IA; Numerous nieces and  nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Becky Linz; 3 grandchildren, Jordan Montroy, Lauren Schmidt and Casey Montroy; her brother, Steve Hank; brothers-in-law, Tom Montroy and Chuck Montroy; and sister-in-law, Doris Keever.

Funeral services will be 12:00 pm, Thursday, April 8, 2021 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Interment will be in Monmouth Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:00-12:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
