Patricia M. (Jackson) Bishop, 78 of Monmouth, Illinois passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 12:31 a.m. at her home.
She was born on December 13, 1944, on the family’s farm in Beverly, Illinois to Leon and Zelma (Kendrick) Jackson. She was one of twelve children.
She married the love of her life and best friend Clarence Bishop on September 14, 1985, in Galesburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2020. Previously, she had been married to the late Fredrick “Fred” McCann whom she shared five children.
Patricia is survived by their five children, Peggy (James) Baysingar of Atoka, TN, Mark McCann of Alexis, IL, Tammy (Mike) Trout of Cameron, Il, Tim McCann of Monmouth, Il, and Lori (McCann) Barron of Monmouth, Il; eighteen grandchildren and thirty-six great grandchildren and her faithful canine companion “Bo”. Also surviving are six siblings, George Jackson of Galesburg, Il, Richard (Linda) Jackson of East Galesburg, Il, Kenny (Sue) Jackson of Galesburg, Il, May Ostrander of Petersburg, Il, Doris Swise of Fairview, Il, and Terry (Lorma) Jackson of Rio, Il. numerous nieces and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Alaina Haneghan, two grandsons, Brandon Baysingar and Joshua Atwell; and five siblings, Janet Johnson, Betty Chase, Gene Jackson, Robert (Bobby Joe) Jackson and Johnny Jackson.
Patricia loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. She enjoyed music especially dancing and Karaoke, sitting on the front porch and Facebook.
We will all remember and celebrate the life she lived, the love she shared with others and the difference she made in our lives.
Cremation has been accorded. Graveside service for both, Clarence and Patricia Bishop will be in Fiatt Cemetery, E Shoop Road, Fiatt, Illinois on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the memorials may be given to OSF Hospice and sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
