Olive Pauline "Bluie" Whitehall, 91, of Monmouth died at 9:45 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth.
She was born March 24, 1925 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Charles and Pauline (Schickler) Brock. She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1943.
Bluie married Russell Whitehall in Monmouth on Feb. 26, 1947 and he passed away on June 8, 2004.
Bluie worked as a press operator at Western Stoneware in Monmouth for 43 years before retiring in 1987.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Monmouth, a Girl Scout leader and a lifetime member of the Monmouth American Legion and VFW Auxiliary. She joined and was initiated into the Rebekah Friendship Lodge #22 in 1944 where she served as the Grand Noble in 1957, 1990,1994,1997 and 2005. She also served as President of District #11 Rebekah Lodge in 1993.
Survivors include her daughters, Rita (Carl) Sousa of Ft. Myers, FL, Paula Noel of Edwardsville, IL and Amy Whitehall of Alton, IL; her son Charles (Georgia) Whitehall of Lovington, IL; 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, William Henry Brock.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 15, 2016 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth with Rev. James Epperson officiating. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home; a Rebekah Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Memorials may be given to Rebekah Lodge United Nations Children's Fund.
