Norma A. Fletcher

Norma A. Fletcher, age 85, of Monmouth, passed away at 4:28 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg, Ill. Norma was born on April 10, 1927 in Clayton, Ill., and was the daughter of John E. and Edna Miller Bates. She was reared and educated in Clayton and graduated from Clayton High School. Norma married James C. Fletcher on April 7, 1951 in Carrollton, Ill.; he preceded her in death on May 19, 1990. Norma was a school secretary at Lincoln School in Monmouth for over 30 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Monmouth. Norma is survived by her daughter Rhonda Harris (Sam) of Gerlaw, Ill., her grandchildren; Amy Lair (Jason) of Alexis, Ill., Katie Brown (Ryan) of Alexis, Ill., Andy Harris of Gerlaw, Ill., and 5 great grandchildren; Abby, Allison, and Alex Feltmeyer, Drew and Ella Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. As per Norma's wishes, there will be a private family service and interment at Warren County Memorial Park in Monmouth. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory are in charge of the arrangements.
