Nathan R. Giles, 31, of Monmouth, passed away at 6:40 a.m., Monday, July 20, 2015 at his home.
Nathan was born March 22, 1984 in Galesburg, IL the son of Steven R. and Roxanna L. (Lodwick) Giles. He was raised and educated in Little York and Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School.
Nathan worked as a roofer for a few years. He most recently worked at Farmland Foods in Monmouth.
He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and was an avid Military buff. He loved spending time with his children.
Survivors include his mother, Roxanna L. (John) Hart of Kirkwood; his children, Layla and Steve Giles of Monmouth; his brother, James Giles of Monmouth; maternal grandmother, Catherine Lodwick of Monmouth; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, maternal grandfather, Edgar Lodwick; and paternal grandparents, Ken and Susan Giles.
Cremation has been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the home of his grandmother, Catherine Lodwick, 1121 E. 2nd Ave. Monmouth. Memorials may be given to the Giles Children Education Fund. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
