Michael Hale

Mike H. "Flash" Hale, Sr., 60, of Monmouth died at 4:40 p.m., Thursday , January 31, 2013 at the Center Point Medical Center in Independence, Missouri.

Mike was born on August 1, 1952 in Monmouth, Ill., he is the son of Charles H. and L. Maxine Salmons Hale. He attended Yorkwood High School. Mike married Marcia Rhodes on May 16, 1981 in Toledo, OH, she survives.

Mike worked as a semi-truck driver and mechanic for many years. He worked for a time at Munson Transportation in Monmouth as a driver and mechanic. The last 10 years he drove as an owner and operator of his own truck.

Mike enjoyed spending time at the river going boating, and tinkering around in his shop.

Mike is survived by his wife Marcia Hale of Monmouth, one son Mike Hale, Jr. of St. Petersburg, Fl., his parents Charles and Maxine Hale of Mesa, Az., two brothers; Ron Hale of Az. and Terry "Smiley" Hale of Monmouth, one sister Lori Feyerabend (Steve) of Mesa, Az., and one step-son Mark Everhardt (Mary) of Robbinsdale, MN. Also surviving are five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 5:00- 7:00 P.M. at the J. W. Clendenin Post #2301 V.F.W. Hall 830 N. G St. Monmouth. Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Cremation Service are in charge of the arrangements.
