Matthew W. Kruse

Matthew W. Kruse, 29, beloved husband, son and brother, formerly of Monmouth, IL, passed away after a long battle with cancer at 2:35 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2016 in his home surrounded by his family.

Matthew was born April 22, 1986 in Monmouth, IL the son of Dale and Roxanne (White) Kruse. He was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 2004. He also graduated from Western Illinois University in 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and earned his Masters of Accounting Degree from Ball State University in 2009.

Matthew married the love of his life, Brandy Mowen on June 5, 2010 at St. Brigid's Church in Liberty, IL and she survives.

Matthew was a Senior Accountant with Clifton, Lason & Allen in Champaign. He enjoyed playing Diablo II and World of Warcraft, fishing, golfing and playing with our dog. He loved Colorado and was a Dallas Cowboys fan.

Survivors include his wife, Brandy of Champaign; his mother, Roxanne (Tracey) Danes of Monmouth; his father, Dale (Pamela) Kruse of Monmouth; his brothers, Doug (Brittany) Kruse of Little York, IL, Russell Kruse of Dubuque IA, David (Kendra) Peterson, Rob Danes and Andrew Danes all of Monmouth; his sisters, Regina (Mark) Toland of Winchester, IL and Jessica Danes of Monmouth; his in-laws, Kent and Robin Mowen of Liberty, IL; brother in law, Andrew Mowen of Vandalia, IL; sister in law, Amanda Mowen of Highland, IL. Other survivors include several nieces and nephews; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth White of Monmouth; paternal grandmother, Marilyn Kruse of Monmouth; grandmother in law, Bernice Mowen of Liberty, IL; aunt, Nancy (Brad) Clark of Rozetta, IL; uncles, Rod (Camie) White of Denver, CO, Ron Kruse and Jim Kruse both of Monmouth and his beloved pet, Sasha.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Wilbert E. Kruse; maternal grandfather, Charlie F. White and grandfather in law, Robert L. Mowen.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment will be at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth. Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society Hope Lodge or the Matthew W. Kruse Memorial Fund.
