Mary D Cannon

Mary D. Cannon, 50, of Galesburg, IL passed away at 10:08 am, Monday, May 31, 2021 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice House in Peoria, IL.

Mary was born December 11, 1970 in Galesburg, IL the daughter of Ralph D. and Myrna M. (Beamer) Cannon- Braun.

Mary was raised and educated in Galesburg and attended Galesburg High School.

Mary married Evans M. Peters in Galesburg, IL on July 31, 2012 and he survives.

She most recently worked at Marigold Health Care Center in Galesburg, IL.

Mary’s main interest in life was being a very “Proud Hockey Mom” to her son, Taylor.  She was very involved in Taylor’s education and served as the president of the PTO at Nielson Elementary School in Galesburg.  She enjoyed gardening, and was an animal lover, especially of her dogs, Haiti and Keelo.  Mary was a people person and loved visiting with others. She was also very fond of the ocean and dolphins.

Survivors include her husband, Evans M. Peters of Galesburg, IL; her son, Taylor C.  (Mikayla Brockett) Davis of Galesburg, IL; her siblings, Rick Cannon of Texas and Sue Calderone of Florida; many cousins, including her “favorite” Lisa Axcell and Hollie Axcell along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph D. Cannon and Myrna M. Braun; her daughter Megan Daniels.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 4:00- 6:00 pm at the Bursie Williams Park at Lake Story in Galesburg, IL.  Memorials may be given to the Mary D. Cannon Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
