Mark D Lopeman

Mark D. Lopeman, 67, of Alexis, IL, died at 7:40 pm Monday, December 25, 2017 at his home.

He was born on December 1, 1950 in Galesburg, IL, the son of Virgil and Joan (Harod) Lopeman. Mark was raised and educated in Galesburg and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1969.

Mark married Sharon Hinderliter on September 5, 1971 in Lewiston, IL, she survives.

Mark worked at Maytag in Galesburg for 15 years. He was baptized at the First Christian Church in Galesburg. Mark enjoyed fishing, golfing, old cars and tractors. Most of all, Mark enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving Mark is his wife Sharon Lopeman of Alexis, IL; daughter, Rhonda (Sam) Medhurst of Alexis; two grandsons, Jake (Lindsey) Medhurst of Abingdon, IL, Gary (Keri) Medhurst of Alexis; granddaughter, Meghan Medhurst of Alexis, IL; his great grandchildren, Gracey, Zavier, Lucy; sisters, Virgi (Toby) Cox, Jenny (Leo) Ennis, both of Galesburg, IL; several nieces and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, James Duane “Jimmy” Lopeman; and son, Jeffrey “Jeff” Scott Day.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 29, 2017 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Interment will be in Alexis Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date.
