Maria T (Solorzano) Godina

Maria T. Godina, 85, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 7:10 am, Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at her home.

She was born December 31, 1932 in Mexico, the daughter of Lucia Solorzano.  Maria was raised and educated in Mexico.

Maria married Pablo Godina in Mexico in 1952.  He passed away on March 31, 2007.

Maria was a homemaker and loved raising her family.  She also worked part-time at Dekalb in Monmouth.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.

Surviving her are eight children; Jose R. (Cuca) Godina, Teodoro (Maria J.) Godina, Jesus M. (Maria C. ) Godina, Moises Godina, Adolfo (Martha) Godina, Pablo H. (Gloria) Godina, Emma (Lauro) Alcala, Magdalena (Juan C.) Alcala all, of Monmouth;  22 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, one brother Fransisco Solorzano of Mexico, and several nieces and nephews.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son  Jose Jesus Godina, one sister, and one brother.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be 1:00 pm Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Monmouth.  Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Monmouth.  Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 pm. Friday, June 29, 2018 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home, Monmouth with a Rosary Service beginning at 5:00 pm.  Memorials may be given to the Maria T. Godina Memorial Fund.
