Margaret D. Kane

Margaret D. "Diane" Kane, age 74, of Monmouth, passed away at 7:50 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2013 at the OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth.

She was born Dec. 20, 1938 in Monmouth the daughter of Herbert R. and Lois B (Wong) Foreman. She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1956.

Diane married John James "Jim" Kane Jr. at Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth on June 8, 1957 and he survives.

Diane worked as a secretary for the Stanton Insurance Agency and later the DeKalb Regional Sales office both in Monmouth. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth.

Diane loved helping and spending time with her grandchildren, they were her pride and joy. She enjoyed sewing, baking cakes, growing flowers, playing Bingo, going to the casino and meeting her friends for coffee. She was the family vacation planner.

Survivors include her husband; 2 daughters, Kathy (Stan) Simonson and Debbie Cook; son, Brian, (Lori) Kane all of Monmouth; Grandchildren, Jenna (Dusty) Roberts, Alex ( Ashleigh Tweed) Kane, Breena (Joe) Hoskins, Kayla Kane, Derek Kane, Sara Simonson, Matt Simonson; great grandchildren: Mylah and Kolsen Roberts; sister, Carol (Butch) Millard of Oquawka; brother, David (Barb) Foreman of Monmouth; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 brothers, Jack foreman, Jim Foreman, Paul Foreman and Robert Foreman.

Friends may call Sunday, December 1, 2013 after 12:00 Noon at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth where her family will be present from 1:00-3:00 P.M. Cremation will take place following the visitation. Graveside services will be at later date. Memorials may be given to the Warren County Relay for Life.
