Lois I. Williams,85, of Monmouth, IL died at 1:25 am, Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg, IL.
She was born Sept. 15, 1932 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of William Thomas and Nellie Adele (Olson) Crouse. She was raised and educated in Galesburg, attending Galesburg High School.
Lois married Willard D. Watkins on December 10, 1949 in Burlington, IA and he died in 1954. She later married Ross W. Williams on June 12, 1955 at the Westside U.P. Church in Monmouth and he survives.
Lois worked as a clerk typist for the USDA Farmers Home Administration for 20 years, retiring in 1994.
She was a member of the Heritage U.P. Church. She loved to play bridge, was an avid golfer who shot 2 holes in one, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She loved taking care of her family and hosting holiday family celebrations.
Survivors include her husband, Ross of Monmouth; daughters, Deborah Sue Olson of Galesburg and Beth E. (Bob) Reedy of Monmouth; son, W. Dean (Jane) Watkins of Monmouth; 6 grandchildren, Sean Sornberger, Dawn Ballard, Rachel (Sean) Crosby, Adam (Tiffany) Watkins, Katie (Luis) Aranda, and Ross (Jackie) Reedy; great grandchildren, John Michael Ballard, Tyler & Payton Watkins, Sydney & Anna Crosby, Lorenzo, Cecelia, Camilo and Lucia Aranda, Hannah & Elijah Reedy; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters and 4 brothers.
Memorial services will be 11:00 am , Saturday, June 9, 2018 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Friends may call Saturday morning where her family will be present from 9:30 to 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Alzheimer’s TIA Research or the Seminary Manor Garden Court, Galesburg.
