Lois A. Dixon, 78, of Little York, IL died at 12:54 a.m. Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Monmouth Nursing Home. She was born May 8, 1936 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Joseph E. and Lois Audrey (Butler) St. Ledger. Following the death of her mother during child birth Lois was raised by her aunt, Marie Catherine St. Ledger, whom she considered as her "Mom". She was raised and educated in Monmouth where she attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Nauvoo, IL in 1954. Lois married Chuck L. Dixon at Immaculate Conception Church on August 29, 1959 and he survives. She worked for a time at Cokel Bros. Welding in Monmouth as a secretary. Lois and Chuck lived in California for many years before returning in 1994. She was a homemaker. Lois was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was an avid reader and animal lover, especially her cats. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband; 3 daughters, Julie (Phil) Bowlin of Seattle, WA, Kathi Conlin of Las Angeles, CA and Joline Dixon of Seattle WA; 1 son, Matt (Sharon) Dixon of Bloomington, IL; 4 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Helen St. Ledger of East Moline, IL, Anita St. Ledger of Quincy, IL and Barbara Wagner of Leaf River, IL; 4 brothers, Paul (Therese) St. Ledger of East Moline, IL, Dean (Nancy) St. Ledger of Monmouth, IL, Don (Ginger) St. Ledger and Bernard (Diana) St. Ledger both of Roseville, IL; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her "Mom", Marie Catherine St. Ledger. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Monmouth with Msgr. Tom Mack, Fr. Tim Hepner & Deacon Will Clark celebrating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Raritan, IL. Friends may call Friday, April 17, 2015 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth where her family will be present from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service beginning at 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to Immaculate Conception Church, Monmouth Nursing Home or the Alzheimer's Association.
