Larry D. Trego

Larry D. Trego, 69, of Monmouth, passed away at 6:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Legacy Estates in Monmouth.

He was born on May 13, 1946, the son of Robert Leroy, Sr. and Elizabeth Jean (Stewart) Trego. He was raised and educated in Abingdon, and attended Abingdon High School. Larry served in the United States Navy.

Larry married Sue Westover on February 2, 1968 in Abingdon, IL. She preceded him in death on July 17, 2015.

Larry worked for Gates Rubber Company in Galesburg for 35 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Larry is survived by five sons; Roger (Bonnie) Trego of Galesburg, IL, Chuck (Tonia) Trego, Randy (Andrea) Trego, Troy Trego, and Tony (Kelly) Trego all of Monmouth. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, three brothers; Bob L. (Barb) Trego of Monmouth, Rick (Carol) Trego of Abingdon, James E. Hopkins of Avon, IL, one sister, Jackie (Bill) Davis of Roseville, IL, and aunt Dorothy Lober of Sciota, IL

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife and son Ron Trego.

Cremation rites have been accorded. No services are planned at this time. Memorials can be made to Shop with a Cop or to a charity of the donor's choice. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, is in charge of the arrangements.
