Larry G. Bower, 69, of Roseville, IL. died at 1:35P.M. Saturday, August 3, 2013 at his home.
He was born January 17, 1944 in Monmouth, IL the son of Gerald A. and Lady Marie (Vaughn) Bower. He was raised and educated in Roseville.
Larry served with the United States Army obtaining the rank of Sergeant 1st Class.
Larry married Marjorie Carol Heit at the First Christian Church in Galesburg, IL on Jan. 27, 1968 and she survives.
He worked as the Lead Man over the dye set up at Maytag for 36 years before retiring in 1999. He also worked for the United Ambulance service for 10 years.
Larry enjoyed being with his family and friends, square dancing, line dancing, going to car shows and traveling to Texas in is RV following his retirement.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Kevin (Missy) Bower of Ankeny, IA and Craig Aden of Alexis, IL; 2 daughters, Christine (Rose) Aden of Clinton, IA and Cathy (Joe) Romano of Monmouth; 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; brother, Alvin (Jeanie) Bower of Galesburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Megan Bower and sister, Patty Sprinkle.
Cremation has been accorded. Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the Roseville Christian Church with Rev. Jack Wingate officiating. Burial in Berwick cemetery will take place at a later date. Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children Hospital. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth 309-734-6008 in in charge of the arrangements.
