Kenneth P. Brohman, 64, of Monmouth, IL passed away unexpectedly at 7:13 am, Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth.

Ken was born August 16, 1955 in Niles MI, the son of Ernest and Doris (Eggleston) Brohman.  He was raised and educated in Berrien Springs, MI, graduating from Berrien Springs High School in 1973.  He later graduated from Southeastern Community College with a degree in Nursing.

Ken served with the United States Army as a Rifle Marksman and Artillery Surveyor at Fort Hood, TX from 1974-1976 and he later re-enlisted as an Operating Room Technician at Fort Meade, MD and later Landstuhl Germany from 1981-1983. While in the service, he played catcher on the Army baseball team.

Ken married Brenda Hathcoat in Berrien Springs, MI on December 27, 1974.  He later married Linda Hamilton in Monmouth, IL on September 10, 1994 and she survives.

Ken was an Operating Room Technician following his discharge from his military service.  Since receiving his nursing degree, he worked as a surgical nurse at all the local hospitals.  He loved assisting in orthopedic cases.

He was a long-time member of the Monmouth American Legion.

He loved talking and watching sports, especially football, baseball & golf.  Ken was an avid Notre Dame and Detroit Tigers Fan.  He also enjoyed fishing and golfing and making his world-famous sausage gravy and biscuits. Ken loved taking care of his home and Linda.

Survivors include his wife; his father, Ernie Brohman of Berrien Srpings, MI; 4 children,  Betsey Brohman of West Bloomfield, MI, Sommer (Earl) Strickland of Phoenix, AZ, Ryan (Jamie) Sherman of Phoenix, AZ and Chad (Michelle) Sherman of Galesburg, IL; 8 grandchildren, Dylan, Lucas, Masiah, EJ, Livi, Monroe, Charlie & Kate; 2 brothers, Jim (Bonnie) Brohman of South Bend, IN and Rick (Karen) Brohman of Stevensville, MI; several nieces and nephews.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at the Brohman home, 994 210th Ave, Monmouth from 1-5 pm, Saturday, June 13, 2020.  Cremation has been accorded. Memorials may be given to Monmouth American Legion. Post #136.
