Karen Jean Seats

Karen Jean (Roller) Seats, 72, of Monmouth, passed away at 1:02 p.m., Thursday, December 3, 2015, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, IL.

She was born on October 11, 1943 in Monmouth, the daughter of James W. and Metta Jean (Thomas) Roller. Karen was raised and educated in Henderson County, IL, and graduated from Union High School in 1961.

Karen earned her degree in cosmetology in 1983 in Ft. Madison, IA. She worked at The Hairdressers and The Headquarters. She later became the salon manager at JC Penny's in Burlington, IA, and worked most recently at The Salon Company in Monmouth. Karen was of the Christian Faith. She loved to garden, both vegetables and flowers. She also crocheted many beautiful afghans.

Karen is survived by her daughter Dianna (John) Kennedy of Monmouth, son, Darrin Seats of Macomb, IL; grandson, Ross (Cynthia) Kennedy of London, OH; granddaughter, Olivia Kennedy of Monmouth; three great grandchildren, Ethan, Claire, and Micah Kennedy all of London, OH. Also surviving are three sisters; Janice (Gary) Bailey of Oquawka, IL, Pam Cabor of Keithsburg, IL, Denise (Gary) Bowling of Monmouth, two brothers; Kerry Deane Roller of Burlington, IA, James Roller, Jr. of Monmouth and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, Tanya Lea Roller and infant brother John Lee Roller.

A Gathering of Family and Friends with light refreshments will be from 11:00-1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 12, 2015 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, followed by a graveside committal service at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth.
