Karen A. Hull

Karen A. Hull, 62, of Monmouth died at 3:40 A.M. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, Ill.

Karen was born on February 19, 1951 in Monmouth; she was the daughter of Russell and Helen (Gardiner) Burkitt. She was raised and educated in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1969.

Karen married James D. Hull in December 6, 1967 in Monmouth.

Karen worked as the office manager at Cavanaugh Motors in Monmouth for over 30 years. She retired in November of 2012. Karen was a member and volunteered with the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening.

Karen is survived by her husband James D. Hull of Monmouth, one daughter Dawn (Todd) Giddings of Monmouth, two sons James "Jim" (Melissa) Hull, Jr. of Virden, Ill., Trevor Hull of Monmouth, one sister Donna Objartel of Monmouth, three brothers David Burkitt of Atlanta, Ga., Danny Burkitt of Sterling, Ill., and Billy Burkitt of Galesburg, Ill.; 8 grandchildren, Amber Steele, Tyson Steele, Ashley Hull, Nicole Hull, Kayla Hull, Justin Hull, Madison Hull, Lindsey Hull, and 2 great grandchildren.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Sara Jones.

Cremation rites have been accorded. No visitation or services are planned at this time. A memorial fund has been established for the Western Illinois Animal Rescue. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory in Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
