Juventino "Tino" Arteaga

January 17, 1951 — March 2, 2017

Juventino “Tino” Arteaga, 66, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 7:54 p.m., Thursday, March 2, 2017 at his home.

He was born on January 17, 1951 in Totatiche, Jalisco, Mexico, the son of Rogelio and Vincentra (Castareda) Arteaga. Tino was raised and educated in Mexico.

Tino worked for a time at Wells Pet Food in Monmouth as a machine operator. He loved to garden and spend time outdoors. Tino was an avid swimmer and was a member of the Warren County YMCA for over 30 years. He was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth.

Surviving Tino are his two sons; Tino Arteaga, Jr., and James Arteaga, numerous grandchildren, four brothers; Antonio Arteaga, Ramiro Arteaga, Martin Arteaga, Rogelio Arteaga, three sisters; Maria “Cuca” Miramontes, Marcelina Carlson, Teresa Arteaga, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Tino’s family would like to thank OSF Hospice and Fr. Tom Otto for their care and compassion during Tino’s Illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Church, Monmouth. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Monmouth. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., prior to the Mass at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. A Rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m. Memorials can be made to Immaculate Conception Church or the Warren County YMCA.
