Judith "Judy" R. (Albert) Richardson

Judith “Judy” R. Richardson, 67, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 8:20 am, Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at her home.

Judy was born February 11, 1955 in Ohio Grove Township, Mercer, IL, the daughter of Cecil Mac and Elizabeth “Libby” Jane (Ludington) Albert.  She was raised and educated in Monmouth attending Monmouth High School. She later attended Carl Sandburg College earning an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Judy married Kenneth E. Richardson, Sr on June 25, 1977 in Monmouth, IL and he passed away on July 4, 1991.

Judy worked at Beck Oil in Galesburg, IL for several years before starting at Family Dollar in Monmouth where she became the manager until her retirement in 2016.  Her main focus and joy was taking care of her family and especially her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Burlington Church of Christ and the Eagle’s Club.  She enjoyed reading and being outdoors.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Jennifer (Douglas) Ferguson and Miranda Brooks both of Monmouth, IL; her 2 sons, Rodney (Melinda) Richardson of Missouri, and Justin (Kris) Peterson of Kewanee, IL; 10 grandchildren, Samantha Richardson, Andrew Richardson, Blake Richardson, Emily (Randy) Detherage, Hannah Detherage, Deacon Ferguson, Audrey Ferguson, Chloe (Tyler) Stegall, Kingston Peterson and Kaden Peterson; 2 great grandchildren, Raelynn Ronner and Kennedy Pullen; her siblings,  Terry (Donna) Albert of Rock Island, IL, Dwayne (Angie) Albert of Cumberland, MD, Thomas (Christina) Albert of Baton Rouge, LA, Jim (Donna) Albert of Monmouth, IL, John (Sherry) Albert of Lebanon, MO, Steve (Catrina) Albert of Galesburg, IL, Deb (Kenny Fye) Teel of Monmouth, IL, Diane Brown of Monmouth, IL, and Pat (Don) Kindhart of Good Hope, IL; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Kenneth Richardson, Jr.; one brother, Marshall W. Albert, and 2 sisters, Barbara E. Johnson and Linda Barker.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Monday, February 21, 2022 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth.  Friends may call Monday at the funeral home where her family will be present from 12:00-1:00 p.m.  Memorials may be given to the Judy Richardson Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home.
