Judith Kay Brown

Judith Kay Brown, 70, of Monmouth died at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at her home.

She was born November 17, 1944 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Harland and Hazel (Simpson) Powell. She was raised and educated in the Coldbrook and Monmouth areas. She later graduated from Monmouth High School in 1962.

Judy married Gary C. Brown in Monmouth on February 1, 1963 and he survives.

Judy was a homemaker and enjoyed watching NASCAR. She was a huge Tony Stewart fan.

Survivors include her husband; 5 children, Scott Brown of Monmouth, Sean (Elaine) Brown of Springfield, IL, Chris (Mandy) Brown of Waverly, IL, Amy (Chad) Morse of Galva, IL and Amanda (Brandon) Missavage of Normal, IL; 6 grandchildren, Veronica Brown, Kira Brown, Alexandra Morse, Cayden Morse, Avery Missavage and Brittany Smith; 1 sister, Jo Ann (Richard) Clark of Little York; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Billy Dean Powell.

Cremation has been accorded. No services are planned at this time. A memorial fund has been established to be designated later. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the local arrangements.
