Joyce Elaine Wallace

Joyce Elaine Wallace, 78, of Monmouth, passed away at 1:10 a.m., Friday, April 29, 2016 at her home.

She was born on February 10, 1938 in Monmouth, the daughter of Roy P. and Mary Naomi (Wallace) Ford. Joyce was raised and educated in Monmouth and attended Monmouth High School.

Joyce first worked at the Colonial Hotel in Monmouth as a housekeeper, she then worked at Western Stoneware in Monmouth as a finisher, she also worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown, IA, and later, she worked at Agar and Wilson Foods in Monmouth. Joyce loved art, especially drawing. She was an avid baseball fan, and enjoyed playing baseball on Kelly's Raiders. Joyce loved to visit and tell stories. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Joyce was a member of St. James AME.

Surviving Joyce are her children; Royce E. Wallace, Calvin B. Wallace, and Merri (Wallace) Williams all of Monmouth. Also surviving is one brother Kevin C. Wallace of Galesburg, IL, ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers; Kenneth Wallace, Henry Wallace, LeRoy Wallace, Luther Wallace, four sisters; Mary (Wallace) Brooks, Charlene (Wallace) Campbell, Marie (Wallace) Peoples, Camila (Wallace) Thomas, and great grandson Noah James Giles.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2016 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Memorials can be made to the Joyce Elaine Wallace Memorial Fund.
