Joyce Marie (Holeman) Barry

Joyce M. Barry, 51, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 7:15 pm, Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

She was born September 20, 1966 in Monmouth, IL to Jan W. and Val J. (Johnson) Holeman. She was raised and educated in Monmouth, having graduated from Monmouth High School in 1987.

Joyce married Michael L. Barry in Monmouth, IL and he survives.

After high school, she began working at Warren Achievement as a laborer and continued to do so for 30 years. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, playing bingo, and participating in the Special Olympics—where she had won many medals.

Surviving are her parents, husband, two brothers, Jan “Homer” Holeman Jr. of Monmouth and Steven (Stacie) Holeman of Oquawka, and one godson, Jonathan Buster of Monmouth. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Joyce was preceded in death by her grandparents and her sister, Jeanine Holeman.

Memorial services will be 6:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home & Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Visitation will be from 5-6:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Joyce Barry Memorial Fund.
