John William Brown

John W. “JB” Brown, 58, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 3:46 pm, Friday, May 25, 2018 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth.

He was born January 14, 1960 in Galesburg, IL the son of John Richard and Shirley M. (Peterson) Brown.  He was raised and educated in in Monmouth and attended Monmouth Schools.

John worked as a parts man his whole life at John Deere for 33 years.  He also owned and operated Complete Parts & Repair in Monmouth.

John enjoyed spending time outdoors, working in his yard, and relaxing in his pool.  He also liked to work on lawn mowers.

Survivors include his children; Shannon Caldwell of Monmouth, Amanda Gregory of Monmouth, Ashley Brown of Burlington, IA, John Brown of Burlington, IA, and ten grandchildren.  Also surviving are his brothers, Chester L. Brown of TX and Fred B. Brown of Monmouth, IL, and sister, Vicki (Nick) Christner of Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Ronald Lee Brown.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 1, 2018 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Interment will be in Aledo Cemetery, Aledo, IL.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials can be made to the John Brown Memorial Fund.
