Jerome "Jerry" J. Lamb, 87, died peacefully at home on Tuesday September 17, 2013.

He was born May 10, 1926 in St. Paul, MN, the son of Frank and Catherine (McDermott) Lamb. He was raised and educated in St. Paul.

Jerry served with the United States Navy during World War II in the South Pacific.

Jerry married Marguerite A. Burggraff in Minneapolis, MN on May 15, 1948 having met at the University of Minnesota while both attended under the GI bill. Together they resided in St. Paul, MN, Dubuque, IA, Milwaukee WI, Grand Rapids, MI, Indianapolis, IN, Crystal Lake, IL, and Kirkwood, MO before moving to Monmouth, IL.

Jerry was in sales/marketing of packaging systems and materials, and later ingredients such as spices & seasonings to the food industry. He enjoyed all sports, but really loved the game of golf.

He was a member of the American Legion for 65 years, the IFT A� International Food Technologist, Toastmasters International, and Barbershop Quartets of America. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth.

Survivors include his wife, 3 children, Dennis (Jackie) Lamb of Cary, IL, Patricia Lamb-Neidig of Tucson, AZ, and Martha (Sid) Smith of Monmouth, IL; grandchildren Kelly (Greg) Gilmore of Springfield, IL, Sam Lamb of Minneapolis, MN, Kris Neidig of Tucson, AZ,; great-grandchildren, Marguerite Gilmore, Paul Gilmore, Adeline Gilmore.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Joanne and Rosemary.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Monmouth with Fr. Tim Hepner celebrating. A Celebration of Life visitation will take place following the Mass from 11:00- 1:00 P.M. at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, 1007 N. G St., Monmouth. Cremation has been accorded. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Prairie, MN at a later date. A memorial fund has been established by the family with proceeds directed to Alzheimer's Association, United Way of Monmouth, and/or Immaculate Conception Church of Monmouth.
