Janice (Determan) Miller

Janice Miller, 87, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 6:26 a.m., Monday, April 5, 2021 at Marigold Rehab & Health Care Center, Galesburg, IL.

She was born on August 27, 1933 in Montgomery County, MO, the daughter of Carl and Helen (Bolton) Determan.  Janice graduated from Edwardsville High School.  She later graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL.

She married Ray Miller in Wood River, IL on May 9, 1959; he preceded her in death on April 18, 2019.

Janice worked for many years as a social worker at the Illinois State Hospital in Chicago, IL.  She later worked as a social worker at the Applegate Nursing Home in Monmouth, IL.  Janice was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Monmouth, IL, where she enjoyed attending Bible studies.

Surviving Janice is her niece, Paula Johnson of Dixon, IL; sister-in-law, Rose Swan; niece, Rhonda Randolph; and nephew, Marty Swan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Ray Miller.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  No visitation or services are planned at this time.  Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church in Monmouth.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
