Janet L. Themanson

Janet L. Themanson, 75, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 5:16 P.M. Saturday, February 23, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Janet was born on March 21, 1937 in Roseville, Ill.; she was the daughter of Orval J. and Theda J. Gilbert Filberth. Janet was reared and educated in Roseville and Stronghurst and graduated from Stronghurst High School. She married Donald Themanson on January 15, 1957; he preceded her in death on September 18, 2005.

Janet worked for a time as a switch board operator at General Telephone. She later worked as an aide at Warren Achievement. Most of Janet's career was spent working with her husband and son working at the Themanson Garage in Monmouth where she was the office manager. She most recently worked at the Monmouth Municipal Airport as the airport manager. Janet enjoyed baking, taking care of animals, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

Janet is survived by three children; Rod Themanson of Monmouth, Bobbi Themanson of Monmouth, and Kristin Sorensen (Pete) of Ft. Collins, Co., her grandchildren Gentry, John, and Noah Sorensen of Ft. Collins, Co., and Alex Altiere of Monmouth. Also surviving is one sister Linda Isenberg of Little York, Ill. and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the Faith United Presbyterian Church in Monmouth. Friends may call an hour prior to the service at the church where her family will be present to receive friends. Interment will be in Roseville Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Western Illinois Animal Rescue. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory are in charge of the arrangements.
