James H. Harlow, 55, of Monmouth, passed away at 3:33 a.m., Saturday, October 24, 2015 at his home. He was born February 29, 1960 in Monmouth, IL the son of Huston and Dorothy (Carlson) Harlow, Jr. He was raised and educated in Warren County graduating from Warren High School in 1978. Jim married Ruth Roche at Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth on June 10, 1983 and she survives. Jim was proud to be a 3rd generation farmer on the Harlow Family Farm, just south of Monmouth. Family was his top priority, he loved being with and around his family. He was a St. Louis Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings fan. In recent years, he attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Monmouth. Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Monmouth; their 2 sons, Jeremy (Melissa) Harlow of Zurich, Switzerland and Greysen Harlow of Monmouth, IL; his mother, Dorothy Harlow of Monmouth; sisters, Elgie (Kenny) Deimeke of Mexico, MO and Jean (Dave) Truesdell of Jacksonville, IL; sister in law and brother in law, Dorothy & Jim Oaks of Monmouth, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Interment will be in Monmouth Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday at the funeral home where his family will be present from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to the University of Missouri Medical Genetics Research Program for Osteogenesis Imperfecta.
