Jack L. Lox, 81, of Oquawka, IL. passed away at 10:20 p.m., Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab in Stronghurst, IL.
He was born March 9, 1933 in Gladstone, IL the son of Lucious and Katheryn (Colley) Lox. He was raised and educated in Henderson County, IL. where he attended rural county schools.
Jack serviced with the U.S. Navy for 4 years from 1951 until 1955.
Jack married Glenda Jo Lane in Henderson County on April 28, 1956 and she survives.
Jack was a Union Carpenter for 30 years building many local projects in the area. He also worked with his son, Jim, at J & J Tree Service for 25 years before his retirement.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; children, Debbie (Charlie) Carlson of Oquawka, Patty (Larry) Allen of Keithsburg, IL., Donna (Kenny) Klick of Keithsburg, IL. and Jim (Amy) Lox of Oquawka; grandchildren, Jackie Dowell, Tara (Donnie) Hays and Amanda (Brandon) Troyer; great-grandchildren, Curtis Dowell, Drake Hays, Adrianna Hays, Aaden Troyer and Bryson Troyer; sister, Bev Alecock of Oquawka; brother, Rusty Lox of Oquawka; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
A private family memorial service with military honors will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Jack Lox Memorial Fund c/o of McGuire & Davies Funeral Home, 1007 N. G St. Box 444, Monmouth, IL 61462.
