Imogene Hazel Reith Dutton

Imogene Hazel Reith Dutton, 103, of Monmouth, IL, died at 8:30 pm, Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth.

She was born February 24, 1914 in Pinckneyville, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Letha (Hamilton) Reith. She was raised and educated in Pinckneyville attending Perry County Public Schools.

Imogene married Ralph Dutton in Galesburg, IL on December 23, 1936 and he died on February 19, 1987.

Imogene was a homemaker, farm wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting, and fishing. Imogene always loved going to her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty Ankle of Monmouth; grandchildren, Stephen Ankle of Kansas City, MO, Rodney Dutton of Spencer, OK, Jeffrey Ankle of Oklahoma City, OK, Natalie Kirkpatrick of Crystal Lake, IL, Richard Ankle of Monmouth and Julie Harrison of Kansas City, MO; 15 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren; daughter in law, Ellen Dutton of Hanover Park, IL; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Paul Dutton, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 5, 2018 at the McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Interment will be at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth with Pastor David Dutton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation has been accorded. Memorials may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Hospice Compasuss.
