Gary L. Ross

Gary L. Ross, 62, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 5:07 p.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Hospital, Peoria, IL.

Gary was born December 25, 1954 in Monmouth, IL the son of Earl Leroy and Geraldine L. (Smith) Ross. He was raised and educated in Monmouth, attending Warren High School.

Gary married Debra Kelso in Monmouth, IL on November 16, 2001 and she survives.

Gary was a handyman who worked for Jim Montroy. He also worked for a time at Farmland Foods in the maintenance department.

He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Monmouth. He loved watching football and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, being outdoors and walking his dog.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Ross of Monmouth; his daughter, Jazmin Ross of Monmouth; step-children, Jeremy (Amanda) Ray of Rock Island, IL and Becky Ray of Monmouth; his 4 grandchildren, Junior, Joy, Alyana and Luella; 3 sisters, Rose (Kendall) Tippett, Martha (Jerry) Brock and Mary (Clayton) Dean all of Monmouth; 4 brothers, Danny Ross, Terry Ross, Mike (Jodie) Ross all of Monmouth and Russell (Teresa) Ross of Pittsburgh; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Tracy Lynn Ross; 2 brothers, Earl Ray Ross and Ronnie Ross.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 16, 2017 at McGuire and Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. No visitation is planned. Cremation will take place following the services with interment at Warren County Memorial Park at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Immanuel Baptist Church.
