Fred W. Hooks, 72, of Thomaston, Ct., passed away on February 7, 2014 in Torrington, Ct.
He was born on June 20, 1941 in Chicago, Ill. Fred is the son of Floyd Wayne and Bertha Alice (Nichols) Hooks. He earned his Bachelor of Scared Literature from the Ozark Bible College in Joplin, Mo.
Fred married Linda L. Pullen in Monmouth in 1962. He later married Judy Resumadero May 20, 1993 in Waterbury, Ct., she survives.
Fred was a minister for several years. He started the Waterbury Church of Christ through in home Bible studies. He also worked with the Torrington Church of Christ, Oxford Christian Church, Liberty Christian Church, New London Iowa Church of Christ, Naperville Christian Church, and several others. Fred also worked for a time as a computer programmer.
He enjoyed pitching softball, bowling, riding horses, and the company of dogs, especially Cairn Terriers.
Fred is survived by his wife Judy Resumadero of Thomaston, one son Mark W. Hooks of Thomaston, Mark's Mother Linda L. Pullen of Monmouth, Ill., two daughters; Daehnie Resumadero and Sharna Resumadero both of Thomaston. Also surviving are two granddaughters; Ianna Caseqillo and Deseriae Getti both of Thomaston, two cousins; John O'Leary of Mason City, Ia., and Eldon Nichols.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents "Wayne" and Bertha Hooks.
A graveside committal of ashes will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 7, 2014 at Warren County Memorial Park in Monmouth. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date.
