Frances K. Lewis, 74, of Gladstone, IL, passed away at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018 at her home.
She was born on April 2, 1943 in Burlington, IA, the daughter of Loren and Myrtle (Leverton) Booten. Frances was raised and educated in Gladstone and attended the G & O School in Gladstone.
Frances married Jack L. Lewis on November 10, 1963 in Burlington, IA, he survives.
Frances was a loving housewife and provider for her family. She had various jobs and in the late 1980’s she started a daycare in her home taking care of children for her family and friends. She was a member of the Gladstone United Methodist Church and the Gladstone Homecoming Committee. Frances enjoyed playing bingo, gambling, shopping, decorating for all holidays, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving Frances is her husband, Jack Lewis of Gladstone; two sons, Shane (Linda) Lewis of Cedar Rapids, IA, Trent Lewis of Gladstone, IL; five granddaughters, Claire (Josh) Rathje, Kortney Miller, Ashley Lewis, Leanna Lewis, Shianna Lewis; five great grandchildren, Taryn Miller, Shawn Shullaw, Bryce Rathje, Adelaide Rathje, and Jackson Lewis. Also surviving are four sisters, one brother, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Raymond Booten and two infant brothers, Gene and Eugene Booten.
As per Frances’ wishes, cremation rites have been accorded; no visitation or services are planned at this time. Memorials can be made to University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. McGuire and Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
